St Peter's Eco Council representatives 2020/21.

Eco Council representatives share ideas, March 2019.

Our Eco council have started the year very well, encouraging everybody in school to think about reducing our use of materials whilst increasing the amount that we recycle. We have numerous recycling bins in school for food, plastic, tins and paper/cardboard waste. In response to Eco Council requests on behalf of all pupils, we now only send electronic copies of our weekly newsletters.  The newsletters are also available on our website.

Our Eco council are also working on a number of other projects to see where our school can run more efficiently, knowing that this will help us to save energy and money. The most recent initiative is a range of small signs created by the children which remind us to switch lights off when rooms are not in use.

St. Peter's Bag2school Clothing Collection.

The Bag2school collection went ahead on Friday 10th February 2017.  Once again our St. Peter's families were incredibly generous and an amazing £120 was raised for the PTA! Thank you once again to all our children, parents and families for their support.

The St. Peter's Bug Hotel

Year 3 have researched, collected items for and started building a bug hotel. They hope that the hotel will provide shelter for insects throughout the winter and in future it will welcome beneficial mini-beasts to our school grounds. The children will continue to observe the bug hotel and extend or add to it in the coming months.

Additional recycling within school - 2016

The children are doing incredibly well with their recycling.  The additional food caddies within school and the green and brown recycling bins are being filled and collected regularly.
