Pupil Premium

If you think that you may be eligible to apply for Free School Meals for your child, please contact the school office. This applies to pupils in all year groups.

The Pupil Premium was introduced by the Government in April 2011.

The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools to reduce the gap in attainment between disadvantaged pupils and their peers.

The DfE consider disadvantaged pupils to be those who have been eligible for free school meals at any point in the last six years (known as Ever 6), or those who have been looked after (LAC) by their local authority  for more than six months. Pupils with parents in the Armed Forces are also eligible for Pupil Premium funding.

The Government has stated that it is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium is spent, however schools are required to show how interventions benefit the specific groups of pupils, demonstrate outcomes and outline how the money is allocated.
