British Values

British Values

In accordance with The Department for Education, we aim to actively promote British values in school to ensure young people leave St. Peter’s prepared for life in modern Britain. The promotion of British values is central to Catholic education because British values have their origin in the Christian values of our nation.

British Values is an integral part within our Curriculum. This has taken the form of our daily interactions with one another, modelling the behaviour we want to see from our children and from stand-alone themes, assemblies, and also through cross-curricular links such as Multi Faith Day, Religion, and History topics such as ‘The Changing Roles of Women’.

The Key British Values are:

  • democracy
  • rule of law
  • individual liberty
  • mutual respect
  • tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

To see how we promote these British values at St. Peter's, have a look at the document below.
