This week we have learning about the different things that we would see in a Church e.g. lectern, cross.
We have also been learning the french way of saying hello, my name is..., goodbye and numbers 1 to 10.
In our PE today we had to follow our partner under, over and through the PE equipment.

In our maths we have been working with our partner writing number sentences.

WOW what a week we have had!
We had a fabulous time bowling with our Y6 Special friends and then having a picnic in our outdoor area. We were great team players on Wednesday at our Infants Sports morning. Friday was the feast day of St. Peter and Paul and we had an ice-cream as a treat from Father Peter, then we had a great time in music.

This week we have been making the World Cup flags using the peg boards.
In our PSHE this term we have been learning about fire safety in school and at home.

This week we have been writing about our holidays and making our Fathers Day cards.
In our PE lesson this week we have been doing the 'Smile for a Mile' run.

This week we have been busy enjoying the lovely sunshine and doing lots of activities.
We have been planting our broad bean seeds and hoping they will grow!

This week we went to Stockport Town Hall and sang lots of Nursery Rhymes.
We have had great fun with cornflour and seeing how it feels when it's dry and wet.
We have been playing in our role play area. It has a control centre, a space rocket and the moon!
Friday 11th May
Today we have been releasing our class butterflies into our outdoor area.
We were lucky enough to have a really good look at them before they flew off.

This week we have been designing our own aliens and then working in pairs to create a 3D alien.

On Monday we celebrated St George's day.
This week we have been listening to the story 'Whatever Next' and using props to retell the story.
Outside we have been working in teams to make our own rockets.

This week we have been busy finding out what our real caterpillars are going to turn into.
We have been making our own painted symmetrical butterflies.
We have also been making our own stain glass window flowers.

Today we have been spending time with our special friends.
We have been making Easter hats and playing in the Reception classroom and outdoor area.

This week we have been on a dinosaur hunt, writing about the character that we dressed up as on Book Character Day, as well as observing and painting daffodils.

We have had a fabulous day today, dressing up as a character from the books written by Julia Donaldson.
Week beginning 5th March 2018
This week we have writing a book review about the book 'Zog' by Julia Donaldson.
Outside we have been working in teams to design a trap to catch a dinosaur.
We have been making fossils out of model air material and using the small magnetics to make our own models.

This week we have had fun finding things that are magnetic in the sand using out metal detectors.
We have been exploring the size of dinosaur bones and hunting for fossils in our role play area.
Week beginning 12th February 2018
On Monday we had lots of fun in the snow - making snowmen, measuring our footprints, looking at the patterns that our wellies had made and writing in the snow! On Tuesday we continued learning about how to keep safe when using e.g. iPads and then in the afternoon we cooked and ate pancakes! Wednesday was another busy day. We participated in a lovely class Ash Wednesday collective worship and then in the afternoon we made a heart out of all the coins that we had all bought in. On Thursday we had our Chinese banquet and made Chinese lanterns, Chinese fans and wrote Chinese numbers. We have also been estimating and measuring our dinosaurs that came out of our mystery eggs.
Week beginning 5th February 2018
This week we have been learning about 'gender' with the use of the book ‘No Difference Between Us’ by Jayneen Sanders. Throughout the book there are open – ended questions so that the children have the opportunity to talk about their own experiences, therefore allowing the children to have a voice. Examples of some of questions we have answered this week are: - What cereal do you like to have for breakfast? What kind of hair do you have? What do you like to play with in our classroom and our outdoor area? We answered these questions through different activities such as: Discussions in Circle time, Creativity / Literacy (drawing and writing), Math’s (Making graphs). On Thursday we learnt about Indian culture, Japanese culture, Chinese culture, and Islam culture when we had a fabulous afternoon at our Diversity market.

This week we have been designing bunting ready for our Diversity week.
Our bikes and scooters are nice and clean!
Some children have been using different things to measure our dinosaur footprint.
We have been using a salad spinner to mix red, yellow and gold paint.
We gave a computer program instructions to make a pen to move up, down, left and right to draw squares and rectangles.
We have listened to the story ‘The Rainbow Fish’ and own printed a fish with a shiny scale.

This week we have been very busy making hideouts to hide from the carnivore dinosaurs.
We have also been learning about adding two numbers together and making a number sentence
e.g. 4 + 2 - 8.
Week beginning 15th January 2018
This week we have been learning what life was like for Jesus when he was a little boy. We have been learning that Joseph was a carpenter and Jesus helped him make things out of wood. We then have been looking around our school for things made out of wood. Also through out the week we have begun to learn about dinosaurs and have participated in a range of activities.

This week we have been busy finding out what everyone got for Christmas and writing about it. We have been like Thelma the Thinker and working in teams to make a time machine to go back in time to when the dinosaurs were around. In our role play are we have helped to paint the scenery.

This week we joined the rest of the school in participating in a lovely Gift Mass.
On Tuesday it was party day and Father Christmas came to visit us.
On Wednesday we had our first go on our new climbing frame.

This week we have been performing a play called 'Tinsel and the Gigantic Star'.

This week we have been practicing for our Christmas play. In class we have been making our Advent Promises, snowmen, angels and gingerbread biscuits. Outside we have been watching our new climbing frame being built!

This week we have been busy cleaning our bikes and scooters in the bike wash. Cooking lots of food in our new wooden kitchen area. Working as a team to build a huge marble run. Playing different games like dominoes and snap! We have also been busy buying lots of items in our new supermarket role play area - Sainsbury's.

This week we have been on a 2D shape hunt, printing our firework background, participating in a firework dance and firework work in other areas.
Week beginning 30th October 2017
This week we have been listening to the story 'Were going on a Bear Hunt'. We have been working like Tim the Team Worker, Percy the Participator, Thelma the Thinker and Sandy the Self-Manager to make a large obstacle course.
Week Beginning 16th October 2017
This week we have been having great Autumn fun! On Monday we enjoyed the leaves falling from the strong winds. On Tuesday we worked in small teams like Tim the Team Worker to collect anything that was to do with Autumn. During the rest of the week we used our Autumn items to create a creative picture of something God made for us to look after.
Week beginning 6th October 2017
We have had a very busy week this week. Outside we have been working as a tem to make Mr Gumpy's car. We have been playing ring games with the Y6s at dinnertime. We have also outside had to work together to sort out the letters of the alphabet and then find the letters in our names. Inside we have been counting different amounts, using number fans and ordering numbers.

This week we have been listening to the story 'Creation' from God's special book the Bible.
Outside we have been using chalk to draw five animals that we like.
