20.07.17 -This week we have had great fun making hand puppets, had a yummy treat from Miss Downing in the sunshine and enjoyed our last week in Year 1.

14.07.17 -We have been working together to solve mathematical problems.

07.07.17 -We have finally finished adding to our seaside display this week. We are very pleased with the results what do you think? We have also been working really hard investigating capacity.
iPad fun
30.06.17 -The children really enjoyed working on our new iPad's to create trailers about the seaside.
Fractions
23.06.17 -This week we have been Police Investigators finding out about the camera in 'Flotsam,' learning to skip and working so incredibly hard with fractions. We are learning about halves and quarters of objects and amounts.
A very Victorian morning
16.06.18 -We travelled back in time this week to visit a Victorian seaside. We
learnt about bathing machines. Then we travelled back to make our own! It was great fun.
Our Healthy Banquet!
26.05.17 -We had a fun filled afternoon chopping, cooking and making our healthy meals. Everything went down very well with the children and we even have enough left over for an extra snack this afternoon. Yum!
Healthy Schools week
19.05.17 -We have had a lovely time this week with lots of different activities. We have interviewed a doctor, Mrs Wroe and a dental nurse. Completed a run in the pouring rain! Tennis, mindfulness and salsa dancing. We have been looking at healthy food and have planned a meal to make next week!
Our Olympics
12.05.17 -Another busy week in Year 1. We have been creating our own version of the Olympics. Here is a sneaky peek... it's all unfinished but there are lots of super ideas.
Maths fun in the sun!
05.05.17 -We had a lovely time this morning playing different games outside. Then we came indoors to add up our total scores.

28.04.17 -We have been reselling Traditional Tales. We combined this with our celebration of St Georges Day.
Phonics Fun on Friday!
21.04.17 -There was all sorts of fun going on today in Class 1, bingo, jigsaws, dominoes and monster naming games.
A busy week in year 1
07.04.17 -We enjoyed playing one of our favourite games with Mrs Mullarkey. Made and decorated clay pots, then filled them with decorated eggs. Finally we topped off the week by measuring and following instructions -we made a flock of Easter lamb cupcakes. Yum, yum!

31.03.17 -Another busy week in year 1. Our cress heads turned out fantastically! We have also been working in groups, writing really funny poems about all the different faces we can make.

24.03.17 -We have been busy again in year 1. We have done chromatography and grown cress heads!
A great day at Knowsley Safari Park
17.03.17 -We all had an amazing day at Knowsley. The children behaved excellently, we saw lots of animals and the sun was even out for us!

27.01.17- We love playing games in PE, our favourite warm up game is the pirate game. The children have become so good at it now that we had to have 6 winners this week!

20/01/17 -Mrs Mc has been cooking up a storm, with the help of some of year 1. The result was great fun all round and we have learnt about halves and quarters of shapes and numbers.

Elf Hunt
25.11.16 -This week we have been visited by an elf in year 1! We wrote poems about him and went on an Elf Hunt of our own. He left us clues and we found him in our library! He is very mischievous, but also very friendly.
Performing poetry
18/11/16 -This week we have been learning poems about worms. We've had great fun discussing how squirmy they are!
07/11/16 The children have designed, made and are now painting their model houses.This week we have been learning all about the Jewish day of rest - Shabbat. On Tuesday we set out a table as Jewish families would in preparation for Shabbat.
Phonics
04.11.16 -This week we had great fun in phonics playing Heads Up. We all had a word on our head and we had to solve the mystery by asking our friends questions about the word, until we found all of the letters and the word. It was very funny and a great way to practice our phonetic knowledge.
Royal Crowns
21.10.16 -We have been thinking about our home in the UK. We have been looking at our Queen. We have studied the Imperial State Crown, we have made our own crowns. What do you think?
Religion
We have been looking at the rainbow in the story of Noah and the Ark. We used streamers to make a rainbow dance!
Harvest
07.10.16 -We have learnt all about growing food and harvesting food. We have been talking about how important it is to share.
30.9.16 - We have been acting out the story of The Three Little Pigs and thinking about the story from a different point of view!
23.9.16 - This week we have been looking at The Story of Creation and working on our class Religion display. We have also been busy creating story maps about the Three Little Pigs.
16.9.16 - This week we have been learning more about the Three Little Pigs. We have made finger puppets and acted out the story. Mrs Hopton and Mrs Mc. were very impressed with everyone's acting skills! We have also been thinking about materials that are good for building with and investigating what animals homes out of.
