In line with the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Code of Practice January 2015 the school supports children with Special Needs within the school. We adopt a whole school approach towards children deemed to have special needs, with all teachers sharing responsibility for these children and giving them the support they need, both inside and outside the classroom. If a child encounters difficulties, or is seen to be able or talented, a staged approach is followed where the teacher, the Special Educational Needs co-ordinator, parents and specialists from outside the school are all involved. For some pupils, referrals are made to Stockport’s Educational Psychology Service. Please see the link below for more information.
The SEND Coordinator for St. Peter's is Mr D. Reynolds. He can be contacted through the front office on 0161 483 2431 or firstname.lastname@example.org .
Public Health England have recently begun a new campaign, promoting the facts behind antibiotic resistance. This is a worldwide problem and taking antibiotics when you don't need them encourages dangerous bacteria that live inside you to become resistant. Please see the poster and link below and please pass the information onto friends and family to share this important message.
