Welcome to our website gallery!
In this section we will share with you special events in which individuals, groups and at times the
whole school community are involved.
Our faith is central to all that we do and
we strive each day to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
Bonfire Break the Rules!
Last Friday, we had Bonfire Break the Rules day organised by the PTA. For this day only, children were allowed to break the rules! For example, children did not need to wear uniform, children wear able to wear temporary tattoos, children could wear their hair down and they could have cordial in their bottles.
Thank you for 'paying your fines' and donating to the school!
House Point Treat
Well done to our House Point winners of the spring term- St. Paul! They had a fun afternoon this week of sports-day themed activities and events followed by a snack and juice.
Lenten Games Fundraising
During the last few weeks of Lent St. Peter's children were busy organising games and raising money for our chosen charity- the Pope' charity 'Mission Together'. Mission Together changes lives of children; through its unique motto of children helping children, children in Catholic schools worldwide learn to pray for and share with each other. The classes organised games and stalls such as: Pin the scar on Harry; What’s in the box?; Guess the name of the teddy; How many sweets in the jar? ; and football shooting activities, too! They raised over £1000! A brilliant amount- thank you very much for your donations.
Music and Coffee Afternoon
What a great success our Music and Coffee afternoon was! The children have worked very hard practising their instruments and performed with great confidence to all the visitors who came to watch. We are very proud of them!
Holy Week
Our journey through Holy Week has been very spiritual and special to our school family. Well done to our junior children who have told the Easter story so beautifully in our daily liturgies.
Remembrance Stones
The remembrance stones created by children in Year 6 have now been placed in our Prayer Garden. Each child spoke about the reasons behind their chosen design. Here are some examples of what they said:
The poppy represents the people who have died in the war and the crosses represent that they are with Jesus - Sam
I chose my rock’s design because it helps us to remember how much grief and relief there was after the war - Jack.
I used a night sky because it makes people feel calm and safe. I used the poppy because it is the flower of remembrance - Charlotte L.
My poppies show those who have sadly passed away - Ryan.
I chose a poppy to remember the people who died in Flanders Fields and in war - Loïc.
I Have a Dream
Pupils in Year 6 have been learning about Martin Luther King Jr. as part of their ‘Justice’ topic, within R.E. Here are 2 examples of children’s own ‘I have a dream’ speeches, inspired by Martin Luther King Jr.
Special Friends Assembly
The whole school got together this morning to celebrate our Special Friends Assembly. The Year 6 and Reception children were overjoyed to find out who their Special Friend would be. It was a lovely occasion and hopefully the pictures below captured some of the moments from a truly wonderful assembly.
National Maths Week
We have been celebrating National Maths Week in school this week. Children in Reception have used shapes to create artwork, inspired by Kandinsky. Children in Key Stage 1 have enjoyed some active maths lessons. Children in Key Stage 2 enjoyed taking part in 'escape room' activities, which required them to use their mathematical problem solving skills. Year 6 pupils took part in an interactive virtual workshop with a maths expert from Oxford University. Have a look at the pictures below to see what we got up to.
Prayers from Y6 at the time of Harvest
Dear God,
Thank you for our homes, family, food and drinks. We are all happy to be part of your family and to follow in your footsteps. Once again, thank you for making this wonderful world for us to live in. You've made my life better and I will always be by your side and I know you will always listen to my prayers and to my worries and will take them away. Amen.
Kaila
Dear God,
We pray for those who don't have the things that we are likely to have. We also pray for those who are living on the street every day, begging for money and getting 'brushed off'. Please help us to remind ourselves to donate to The Wellspring, so that they can deliver to those in need. Amen.
Max
Mrs Rigg Retires
On Friday 2nd July we celebrated Mrs Rigg, who has retired after working at St Peter's Primary for over 30 years.
Children and staff are committed to additional prayer
and supporting others during Advent and Lent.
Our School Lenten Prayer
Caring and loving Jesus, You show us how to look after each other.
Reading Themed Week
Happy St. David's Day!
Math's Themed Week
Enjoying teamwork in the snow!
Y6 pupils enjoyed attending 'Poppyfest' at Hazel Grove Methodist Church. They learned about soldiers, animals, women and children in the wars, as well as the significance of the red, purple, white and black poppies.
Y6 pupils welcomed visitors to our Open Morning on Tuesday 9th October
and acted as excellent guides around the school.
Children from Y1 - Y6 shared some of their Harvest themed work at our assembly on Friday 5th October.
Blessing of St. Peter's Prayer Garden
On Wednesday 5th September Father Peter with the help of the
Faith Council blessed our Prayer Garden as well as a new cross that is going to go up in it.
The prayer on the cross
Now, before I run to play.
Let me not forget to pray.
Help me, Lord to love You more than I ever loved before.
In my work and in my play be with me throughout the day. Amen
