Topic - History
We have been learning about Christopher Columbus. The children enjoyed learning about his early life and journey to becoming an explorer. The children created fact files about him and also storyboards about his first voyage. The children loved finding out about some of the goods he brought back to Europe after landing in The America's. Keep up the inquisitive work Year 1 :)

PE
Year 1 have been busy building a dance based upon the movements of different animals. They have been adding to their sequences each week and working using different levels, body parts and methods of travel within their work. Well done Year 1 :)
30th January - 3rd February 2023
Music
This week Year 1 completed their music block for this term. The children enjoyed playing different instruments, working on maintaining a beat and recognising tuned and untuned instruments. The children enjoyed learning different songs and performing them in class. Well done Year 1 on another super week :)

Numbots Launch Day!

This week the children celebrated World Mental Health Day. The children watched a video about becoming a 'feelings detective' and spoke in circle time about times they have felt different emotions and discussed ways/things that we can do to make us feel better. They also created their own feelings monster and labelled the monster's feelings.
The children also acted in role of the penguin and the boy from our class story 'Lost and found' and performed their drama to the class.
