The end to a long, but brilliant half term! This week, Year 4 showed great reverence and confidence when presenting their Celebration of the Word based on the Last Supper. Also, for National Art Day we created watercolour Holy Week Art. Have a great Easter Break Year 4!
This week Year 4 have made circuits in class as part of their Science topic 'Circuits and Conductors'. Below are some highlights of the week.
This week, Year 4 have completed activities to mark World Autism Day. They went on a hunt around the classroom to find out their similarities and differences and spoke about what makes each individual unique. They also planted up flowers to go with their prayer crosses to be sent to the St Peter's helpers.
This week, Year 4 have been busy hosting their Lenten Games. Their games were various and creative and they worked brilliantly as a class team. Well done Year 4!
This week, we have continued our learning of WW2 and have thought about what it would be like to be an evacuee. The children drew what they would pack in their suitcase and wrote a letter as an evacuee describing how they are feeling being away from their home and family.
This week we took part in a live lesson to mark British Science Week and explored 'a day in a life as a farm vet'. We also reached the second line of our reward pom-pom jar and had a treat on Thursday afternoon.

We had a busy week this week. We had an Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday and we celebrated World Book Day on Thursday. We also practised our control in tennis and enjoyed a one off lesson of football rounders.
This week the children explored the invention of the Mackintosh coat in D&T. They tested out different methods to waterproof their paper boats. They also had their first gymnastics lesson.
This week, Year 4 started their new D.T topic British Inventors. This week, they have investigated the invention of the telephone and evaluated two different designs. They have also learnt about the invention of the World Wide Web and have explored its impact on society.
This week, Year 4 came to the end of their Art unit focused on Sonia Delaunay. They created paintings inspired by Orphism and influenced by the poem 'From a Railway Carriage' by Robert Louis Stevenson, 1913.
This week, Year 4 were very respectful and sang beautifully at their class Mass. They also learnt about algorithms in their Computing workshop. They were set the task of creating an algorithm on how to make a cheese and tomato sandwich. The class were surprised, as to how simple a set of an instructions needs to be for a computer to follow correctly. They then worked together to 'debug' their algorithms to ensure the sandwich was then made correctly and in the right order!
This week we have celebrated World Religion Week by learning about Islam. Year 4 used the facts they had learnt from their comprehension text to create an online poster about Ramadan and Eid. Year 4 also started their Art block focusing on artist Sonia Delaunay and enjoyed making shapes and exploring different levels in PE.
This week, Year 4 came to the end of their 3 week Music Block. This week they used percussion instruments to create sound effects to go with a short clip of The Pink Panther cartoon. They all worked together in table groups to compose and time their instruments.
Year 4 had a busy first week back! This week Y4 started a new dance unit, Dance around the world.
Well done on 'beeing' so hardworking and happy this week.
The last week of Half Term! This week, Year 4 have been practising and performed in their KS2 Carol Concert. They all sang beautifully and brilliantly - well done Year 4. The pictures show some of the children's Christmas cards and New Year calendars they have made this week.
Christmas dinner day! We all enjoyed Christmas dinner day as a school in the hall. Year 4 also enjoyed taking part in a live ballet lesson inspired by the book Alice in Wonderland!
This week, Year 4 have marked the first week of Advent by discussing the true meaning of Advent and Christmas in their RE lessons and have designed their own Advent calendars.
This week the children have continued their new Geography topic Village Settlers and have used maps to plot routes in their local area.
The class took part in a No Pens day activity by trying some animal origami!
Today we enjoyed a draw-along in class for our class Enrichment.

Year 4 have been busy this week in Computing when researching facts about 'Creepy Crawlies' and entering the data into Word. They then formatted their document by changing the font, colour and the images. In our second Computing lesson, Year 4 used the iPads and worked as a team to create a 'Battleships' style game on a spreadsheet. They worked in pairs and played against other partners on their tables.
Year 4 have had a great first week back! We completed our first Wellbeing lesson with a focus on resilience when tacking physical and mental hurdles. The children worked together as a team to send a hula hoop round the class without breaking the circle.
Year 4 presented their Harvest Class assembly to the whole school and the parents who joined to watch. They spoke and sang with confidence and spread the message of the importance of sharing with others, especially around Harvest time.
This week the children got stuck into handling and asking questions about the two Anglo Saxon artefacts we had been sent. They also used their inference skills to answer questions about the mysteries which were uncovered by archaeologists at Sutton Hoo.
This week the class made their own mini Rosary out of a pipe cleaner and 5 beads. They have used them this week in class when taking part in the Rosary Challenge everyday.
The class enjoyed working together as a team when playing 'sharks and jellyfish' before getting stuck into learning the 'slap' and 'push' pass in Hockey.
Year 4 have had a baking filled week! They have made fairy cakes and jam tarts in DT.
Year 4 have had a brilliant first week back in school. We have especially enjoyed visiting the school library, and making name bookmarks for the books they borrowed. They also showed off their skills when practising their dribbling and control in hockey.
